A RECORD, REIMAGINED

What is
Digital Vinyl?

Digital music with the presence of a record. An album cover to recognise. A side to settle into. A needle that follows the music.

Why we built VinylStack
How does Digital Vinyl work?

VinylStack presents digital music as an interactive record on a virtual turntable. The record spins, the tonearm moves along a continuous groove, and each side follows the timing of its tracks. Change the vinyl design without changing the music.

Can I try it without an account?

Yes. Try The Deck or explore the designs here with our original demo albums: Theo Calder’s An Experiment With AI & The Cello and Emma Hart’s Paper Cities. These demos do not need an Apple Music subscription.

Do I need an Apple Music subscription?

Full playback from the Apple Music catalogue requires an active Apple Music subscription and an Apple Music connection in this browser. Otherwise, Apple’s 30-second previews are available where provided. Your Apple Music subscription is separate from VinylStack membership. Spotify support is coming soon.

Is this a physical vinyl record?

Digital Vinyl is a listening experience in your browser. It does not create or ship a physical record. You can choose a record design and a virtual deck, then listen through your device’s audio output.

What can I customise?

Explore record colours, splatters, transparent finishes and picture-disc designs. On The Deck, try different record players, finishes and tonearms, including the Retro MC-8000 music centre. Choose an overhead or perspective view to enjoy the details.
