Will The Listener always be free?
Yes. The Listener has no subscription fee and no expiry. There is no collection-size cap. Catalogue vinyl, CDs and cassettes, enjoy the Classic deck range and use essential playback across all three media. Music-service subscriptions are separate. This membership preview does not change anyone’s existing beta access.
Does someone need a paid membership to receive a MixDisc?
No. Receiving, scanning and opening a gifted MixDisc does not require a paid VinylStack membership. For Apple Music tracks, full playback requires an active Apple Music subscription; otherwise, Apple’s 30-second previews are available where supplied. A gift does not include a music-service subscription.
How does full playback work?
Full playback is currently enabled through an active Apple Music subscription. Without one, playback is limited to Apple’s 30-second previews, where available. Apple Music is not included in your VinylStack membership. Spotify support is coming soon.
What happens to my existing collection?
Your whole collection belongs here. The Listener has unlimited collection entries, so cancelling a paid plan will not put a cap on adding albums. Existing beta access and saved Record Tokens are unchanged by this preview.
How do Record Tokens work?
Record Tokens fund AI-assisted creative work. The Collector launch proposal does not include monthly tokens, and The Creator’s price and allowance will be announced together when its tools are ready.
Today’s beta grants, saved balances and available top-ups are unchanged. Any future allowance, rollover and top-up terms will be clear before you pay.
Can I try making a MixDisc for free?
Manual MixDisc creation and sharing are part of The Collector proposal. A welcome creation or a one-off purchase may be added later; neither is promised in this launch offer. Receiving and opening gifts is always free of paid VinylStack membership.
What is Studio Mode?
Coming soon to The Creator, Studio Mode is for Artists and AI Explorers. Add your new music as Digital Vinyl and open a campaign page where listeners can preorder your album on real vinyl. We’ll work with you to choose pressing or lathe cutting according to the release quantity. Studio is part of the planned Creator offer; it is not available through a paid membership yet. Physical production will be arranged and priced separately.
Are printing and delivery included?
No. Printed MixDisc Gift Cards, delivery and physical vinyl are priced separately. There is no included annual card or printing credit in these plans. Any future member discount will be stated clearly when offered.
What happens if I cancel or downgrade?
The proposed membership policy keeps your existing collection entries and issued MixDisc gifts accessible. Paid tools remain available until the end of the paid period; The Listener keeps unlimited collection entries, including new additions. Opening a gift stays free of paid VinylStack membership. Music-source availability and subscription requirements still apply.
Token rollover and the treatment of any unused monthly allowance will be explained before memberships go on sale. This preview changes no existing access.
How will paid membership work?
We’re preparing Stripe checkout and self-service membership management. The Collector will renew monthly or yearly; cancellation stops the next renewal. The Creator will stay on preview until its tools, price and terms are ready. No payment or plan change starts from this preview.
Are new VinylStack features included?
Only the features listed as available in your plan are included. The Creator’s AI toolkit and Studio Mode are a planned future offer. Zoetrope’s paid save-and-use tools remain a preview and are not part of the launch offer yet. We’ll update the comparison as features become available.
